Q: Who are you?

A: What do you mean, who am I? I am the one writing the question! Ok, I will tell you. I am just a dude that likes the performing arts. It started with a few shows, then it got to a point of seeing more and more... I don't watch TV (much at all), and I coordinate my schedule to the hour when it's important to do so. In my line of work, schedules and dependability are paramount. So, it showed me how to coordinate so many events to attend.

Q: Why are you doing this?

A: Simply because of scheduling events I have a good chance of seeing. I try my very best to make it to events, but if I can't that is OK. Also, it was getting to a point that people were asking me what was happening. I know newspapers and other sites do a decent job of putting out the info. But to thumb through many pages to find an event that may not interest you, or not enough information to go by, is a waste of time. Plus, I want to keep my friends informed of the shows I go to. Inevitably, they would say, “Oh, I wish I knew that was happening.” This shouldn't be the case anymore.

Q: Are you some sort of Public Relations guy and is Don411.com a business?

A: No. I do not get paid by any organizations to list them. I have a personal desire to tell others of what cool shows are out there, so they don't miss them. I really enjoy talking about the arts. But I do donate to performing arts because without them... Well, this question wouldn't be answered now. Don411.com is not a business and is for personal use.

Q: What about updates?

A: As often as possible. If I want to go to an event I first have to find out more about it... Then if it interests me enough, I will place it in my schedules of things to do. So, when I update my schedule the site almost automatically updates itself.

Q: Are you going to have banner advertisements like other websites?

A: No way! It distracts from my point of original content. There are a few companies listed on the web site because I know their products and would recommend them. However, there might be a win-win form of advertisement I was thinking about. If a company really wanted to advertise on Don411.com, I would want them to make a donation DIRECTLY to one of the performing arts venue and fax me the paid receipt. 100% of the money would go toward the performing arts venue listed on the website. Due to space limitations, I have to be selective. Also, I want to keep the web site neutral, and to have the widest range of audience. So I have the final say so on links. Just donate to have a link on the web site. No Banner Ads. Permission to advertise must be requested first. Do not assume.

Q: How can someone contact you?

A: Best way to get my attention is to have smoke signals or the Bat-Signal. If you can't do any of those things, an email through Contact Don would work.
