Peter and the Wolf in Hollywood
Prokofiev’s classic reimagined
Peter and the Wolf in Hollywood
.
Interactive, immersive and fun! Together with critically-acclaimed New York-based production company Giants Are Small, who created the adaptation, we proudly present Peter and the Wolf in Hollywood, an unforgettable journey of classical music, visual wonder, and digital play, giving an invigorating new perspective on Prokofiev’s classic.

The narrators of the audio album and the app are no one less than rock superstars Alice Cooper and Campino. Alice Cooper says that narrating Peter and the Wolf in Hollywood took him back to his childhood. “I first heard this back in Detroit, when I was six or seven years old. My mom put the record on and I was instantly transported to another world,” he recalls. “And it has been huge fun for me to do something new after nearly 50 years in the business.” The album was also recorded with one of the world’s leading youth orchestras, the National Youth Orchestra of Germany, directed by acclaimed conductor Alexander Shelley.

You and especially your kids will love the album and the iPad app!

 Vladimir Horowitz
World-premiere Release
Vladimir
“When I sit down at the keyboard I never know how I will play something. I play the way I feel at that moment.” – Vladimir Horowitz

29 years ago, on 26 October 1986, the 83 year old Vladimir Horowitz gave his final recital in Chicago’s Orchestra Hall. It was broadcast locally over Chicago’s premiere classical radio station WFMT. It was broadcast only once more and has not been heard since that time, lying all but forgotten in the radio station’s archive until we discovered its existence in October 2013. Now we are thrilled to release this recording for the first time.

 Remembering Helmut Schmidt
1918 – 2015
Helmut Schmidt
Former German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt was not only one of the most renowned postwar statesmen in Germany, he was also a big fan of art and music. He sadly passed away on November 10, 2015, at the age of 96.

“From Johann Sebastian Bach comes the apt statement that music is for the recreation of the soul. And that’s how it’s always been with me.” Despite being the head of government, he played the piano frequently. The piano was his passion. And it was a source of inspiration and repose for him.

As a matter of fact, in 1985 we released a recording of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Concerto for four pianos and orchestra with him. The soloists: Christoph Eschenbach, Justus Frantz, Gerhard Oppitz – and Helmut Schmidt. In remembrance of this outstanding figure of the 20th and 21st century, we invite you to listen to this historic recording with us – for free!

 Kubelik’s Mahler Recordings
Available as MfiT/True HD
Rafael Kubelik
Rafael Kubelik’s recordings of the Mahler symphonies, set down between 1967 and 1971, have been praised ever since their release. Half a century later, they still number among the reference recordings of Mahler’s symphonic cycle. Notably, this is the first Mahler cycle to be performed and recorded by a German orchestra. The recording is now released for the first time as “Mastered for iTunes” and “True HD” in 24bit from the original analogue source.
