SARASOTA COUNTY – A traveling exhibit of works by famed Spanish artist Salvador Dali is on display at North Sarasota Library through the end of July.
The works of Salvador Dali will be on display at North Sarasota Library through the end of July.
“Dali On Tour” is an exhibition of photographic reproductions of works from the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg. This unique collection showcases the incredible depth of Dali’s creativity and his contributions to Surrealism, one of the most important art movements of the 20th century.
The exhibit is being presented as part of the Sarasota County Library System’s Adult Summer Reading Program, whose theme this year is “Escape the Ordinary.” All are welcome to visit the library to experience Dali’s work and learn more about him and his unique perspectives.
As part of the exhibit, Dali Museum librarian Shaina Buckles will present an informative talk about the artist, his works and his legacy, from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, July 9, in the library’s meeting room.
North Sarasota Library, 2801 Newtown Blvd., Sarasota, is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. All Sarasota County Libraries are closed Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.
