A LAUGH A MINUTE — Hosted by comedian Aisha Tyler, cast members Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady and Colin Mochrie, along with guest comedian Jeff Davis, put their comedic skills to the test through a series of spontaneous improv games that are prompted only by random ideas supplied by the studio audience.  The four performers must use the little information they have and their wild imaginations to depict different characters and an array of scenes, as well as perform songs.  After each round of improvisation, Aisha will dole out points to our four performers and declare a winner at the end of every episode.  Directed by Geraldine Dowd.  Original airdate 8/18/2014.

THE GIRLS…AND GUYS ARE BACK — Cycle 21 kicks off with girls AND guys back in the competition to take home the title of America’s Next Top Model.  31 potential contestants rock the runway to see who can take the best selfie.  The semi-finalists square off in a bowling alley to reveal who makes the first cut. Host Tyra Banks, welcomes Miss J back to the judging panel, along with fashion public relations maven Kelly Cutrone (#2101).  Original airdate 8/18/2014.

ARROW
“The Man Under the Hood” – (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, V) (HDTV)

DEATHSTROKE HITS OLIVER AT HOME — Oliver (Stephen Amell), Canary (Caity Lotz), Diggle (David Ramsey) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) return to the lair and find Slade (Manu Bennett) waiting for them.  An epic battle breaks out and one member of Team Arrow is sent to the hospital.  Thea (Willa Holland) hits her breaking point, but just as Oliver is about to reach her, Slade intervenes and Oliver is faced with a choice – his battle with Slade or his family.  Meanwhile, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) struggles with a new secret.  Jesse Warn directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Geoff Johns and teleplay by Andrew Kreisberg & Keto Shimizu (#219).

MISHA COLLINS MAKES HIS DIRECTING DEBUT — Dean (Jensen Ackles) struggles with the after effects of the Mark of Cain.  Meanwhile, Sam (Jared Padalecki) hears about a case where straight-laced people are turning into violent murderers.  Sam suspects possession and suggests to Dean that they investigate, but Dean tells him to go without him.  While interviewing the local townsfolk, Sam meets an elderly woman named Julia (guest star Jenny O’Hara), who tells him the Men of Letters came to town in 1958.  Josie tells Sam the story of a young man named Henry Winchester (guest star Gil McKinney) and his female companion, Josie Sands (guest star Alaina Huffman).  While Sam is away, Crowley (Mark Sheppard) tests Dean.  Misha Collins directed the episode written by Adam Glass (#917).

PENN & TELLER: FOOL US

WILL PENN & TELLER BE FOOLED THIS WEEK? — Aspiring magicians are invited to perform their best trick to try and fool the world-famous team of Penn & Teller, who will get to see the trick only once and have to immediately try to work it out.  Anyone who succeeds wins the right to perform with Penn & Teller in their celebrated show at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.  The live studio audience and the TV audience watch along with Penn & Teller as they try to figure out the secrets.  The magicians featured in the episode include Damien O’Brien, David Masters and Soma.  British television and radio personality Jonathan Ross (“Friday Night with Jonathan Ross”) serves as host (#103).  Original airdate 8/20/2014.

THE VAMPIRE DIAIRES

MARKOS ARRIVES IN MYSTIC FALLS — In order to keep Stefan (Paul Wesley) from being harmed by Sloan (guest star Caitlin McHugh) and the Travelers, Caroline (Candice Accola) and Enzo (guest star Michael Malarkey) agree to make a trip to Atlanta to find a newly discovered doppleganger.  Caroline is surprised when Enzo opens up to her about his past.  Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) spend an awkward afternoon at Jeremy’s (Steven R. McQueen) parent-teacher conference, where they hear bad news about his behavior at school.  Afterwards, Damon reluctantly tells Elena upsetting news about Jeremy’s personal life.  Bonnie (Kat Graham) has an unsettling encounter with Luke (guest star Chris Brochu), and learns more about his family history.  Liv (guest star Penelope Mitchell) fills Jeremy in on the rumors about the Travelers’ next move and demonstrates her considerable power.  Jeremy makes an unexpected deal with Liv, then makes a decision that is devastating to Elena.  Stefan and Caroline share a special moment of friendship.  Finally, a terrifying turn of events at the Travelers’ camp leads to the appearance of their mysterious leader, Markos (guest star Raffi Barsoumian).  Leslie Libman directed the episode written by Brett Matthews & Neil Reynolds (#517).
