The Bridge Street Merchants are closing Bridge Street to hold another epic event – Blue’s, Brews, and BBQ. Live entertainment from bands as far as Orlando to Sarasota will be providing a true Blue’s experience. Bands include the Lauren Mitchell Band, Kettle of Fish, RJ Howson and Friends, Kara Nally Band, and AJ and the Automatics. From 2-6 there will be a BBQ contest pitting local restaurants against each other in a friendly showdown to determine who has the best BBQ. The winner will be determined by votes cast by event attendees tasting samples of all the BBQ.

From beach to bay, Bridge Street will be lined with a variety of local vendors. The event will showcase local arts and craft vendors, funky beach style gifts, jewelry, clothes, and home décor. Event organizers are also looking for beverage and food vendors.

Parking for the event is available in the city lot near 3rd Street and at Coquina Beach with free island trolley shuttles.

The Bridge Street Market has been operating for five years and has been extremely successful in bringing more business to Bridge Street and increasing exposure for the participating vendors. Bridge Street is in Bradenton Beach and offers dining, shopping, the historic pier, boutiques, live music, miniature golf and resort style accommodations. Bridge Street is also on the free trolley route making it convenient for visitors to park their cars and arrive via the trolley.

Since the merchant group was formed, the group has obtained non-for-profit status, contributed funds to several local charities, improved business to the area and held several profitable events including the Real Florida Fest Beach to Bay Expo, the Bridge Street Memorial Day Festival and an Annual Christmas on Bridge Street event. One of the most successful events has been the ongoing Bridge Street Market.
