Bermuda Triangle – comprising Brittany Howard, Becca Mancari and Jesse Lafser – will kick off a series of five Southern U.S. dates tonight with a concert at Terminal West in Atlanta, GA. The jaunt will also take the trio to Birmingham, AL, Knoxville, TN, Asheville, NC and Chapel Hill, NC. Special guests Thelma and the Sleaze will support on the first two dates and Music Band will open at the other three shows. See below for itinerary and visit www.BermudaTriangleBand.com for ticket information.
Today, Bermuda Triangle shared a new song, “Suzanne.” The track, which features Brittany Howard on lead vocals, gently captures the heartache of being in love with someone who still hasn’t gotten over their ex. “Suzanne” is available now for download and streaming.
NPR Music premiered “Rosey,” Bermuda Triangle’s debut song, and noted, “‘Rosey’ is a bereft, accepting breakup song…the women’s vocal blend, streaking through the song like the oranges and reds in a Western sunset. ‘Rosey, lay your weary head in the arms of someone else instead,’ Lafser moans in her wide, warm alto as Mancari and Howard softly match her notes. Like many a lonesome cowboy before her, Lafser’s looking toward the horizon.” Stream “Rosey”HERE.
Covering Bermuda Triangle’s debut performance, Rolling Stone said the trio’s chemistry “was clear from the first-applause-silencing note” and went on to observe, “The band featured Howard switching between plucking out gorgeous, nimble-fingered nylon-string guitar solos and holding down the low end on upright bass…with Mancari and Lafser trading off on banjo and acoustic guitar, accompanied by subtle beats from a drum machine on a pitch-perfect harmony-heavy set of blithe and breezy heartfelt folk tunes that filled the sweltering room with chill vibes.”
The artists have also been busy with their individual endeavors. Becca Mancari’s debut album, Good Woman, is due out this Friday, October 6. Jesse Lafser’s follow-up to 2015’s Raised On the Plains is due out in early 2018. Brittany Howard recently completed a North American tour with Alabama Shakes and performed at “A Concert For Charlottesville – An Evening Of Music And Unity,” held at the University of Virginia’s Scott Stadium.
