and Finale of WGBH’s Sing That Thing!

BOSTON, Mass. (April 28, 2015) – Singers from eight Massachusetts amateur singing groups will perform in front of a live studio audience in the Semi-Finals and Finale of Sing That Thing!, WGBH’s new local series showcasing New England’s best amateur singing groups in a friendly TV competition.
A total of 23 groups were selected to perform during the inaugural season of Sing That Thing!, which premiered on April 17. The participants represent four competition categories: High School, College, Adult Small Group, and Adult Large Group. The singers perform songs over the first five episodes, culminating in a live-to-tape Semi-Finals and Finale episode featuring the top eight groups (two from each category) presenting their unique spin on an original song, “Qui Canitis Res,” by composer Jim Papoulis.

 

The Semi-Finals, featuring the performance of the original song, will be taped during two sessions on Monday, May 4. The Finale will be taped at WGBH Studios in Brighton on Tuesday, May 5.

AUDIENCE SEATS: WGBH invites members of the community to be part of the studio audience. Tickets are free, but RSVP is required.
