ATOMIC HOLIDAY BAZAAR SEASON 10, EXPANDS TO OUTDOOR VENDING
Atomic Holiday Bazaar enters its 10th season on Saturday, December 12 and Sunday, December 13. Going on a decade, Atomic has busted out the seams of the Municipal Auditorium and the Bay Front Room with ever growing talent and a dedicated fan base. What does one do about this when they refuse to leave their beloved venue, Sarasota’s Municipal Auditorium? Expand the show to the great outdoors. Street vendors will be located on Plaza De Santo Domingo, the street between the Municipal Auditorium and the Sarasota Art Center.
The first Atomic was held in 2006 on a Saturday with 50 vendors. The show proved such a success it was expanded to a full weekend in 2007. In 2008 Atomic grew from the main auditorium to the Bay Front room to accommodate the ever growing number of talented applicants and dedicated shoppers.
Vendors who require a larger area to display their handmade creations finally have the ability to do so. The Atomic street fair is the perfect venue for shop owners, artist collectives, and anyone who works as an indie crafters, artist, jewelry designer, t-shirt screener, up-cycler, repurposed furniture, oddities, prepared foods and vintage clothing. Space is limited and is expected to sell out quickly, the application is available today at www.atomicholidaybaaar.com.
Screen printed totes filled with Atomic swag are passed out at each show to the first 100 adults who enter the building by local derby darlins’ Rolling Renegades Roller Derby. DJ Iche will return to spin music in the main auditorium. Food trucks and the auditorium cantina will be open for hungry shoppers. Also a first for Atomic, two vintage camper pop-up boutiques will be open for business. A new decade for Atomic continues to be a wonderful “Shop Local” enterprise for all involved.
