Receiving October 6
liveFORM Performance Art

Monday, October  5 at 3pm,

Gallery 2 at ACS free!

The third liveFORM performance entitled “RACE”is the result of a collaboration between Miami based visual artist Mirek Chudy and Sarasota visual artist and liveFORM originator Wojtek Sawa.

“RACE” explores symbol and playfulness. Viewers are asked to participate in the performance by altering and giving new meaning to a large scale painting. Super soakers filled with paint will be handed to viewers. They will transform the painting and its meaning through their actions. In the end two paintings will be created. It is our belief that art hovers between the serious and the playful and the juxtaposition is sometimes needed to provide a more meaningful and dramatically potent context. Viewer participation brings in improvisation and an element of the unknown. The structure of the event leads to a transformation of a symbol.

VOLUNTEERS

THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS!!!

for Painting the Classroom walls and Floor!

Still more to do if you want to help, please email

We appreciate and are grateful to those who jump in to help make the Art Center a beautiful environment in which to create.
MANY THANKS TO:
D’ Calvert, Ali Lambert, Elizabeth Goodwill along with Carey Carlson Painting, Inc. owners Gen and Mike who recently volunteered to painted the outside of Art Center Sarasota.

This local family-owned painting business has done work throughout Sarasota.
Their attention to detail is their defining strength.
Mike is a true artist in his craft; Gen is an artist herself. They see that Art Center Sarasota supports local art and artists, so The Art Center seemed a natural fit to donate their time and expertise.
