HEY VIOLET RELEASE “GUYS MY AGE (PRINCE FOX REMIX)” TODAY
Alt-pop band Hey Violet released “Guys My Age (Prince Fox Remix)” today. Listen HERE. The L.A.-based band is building momentum with their current single “Guys My Age,” which has racked up more than 11 million combined streams across digital platforms and is currently No. 22 on the Top 40 radio chart and No. 18 on the U.S. Shazam chart, while the video has over 4.3 million views.  The track was named one of the Best Songs of 2016 by The New York Times, who called it “teen-pop’s revenge: an urgent dark song about sexual rebellion” and one of the 20 Best Songs of 2016 by V Magazine.  Hey Violet has also been nominated for a 2017 iHeart Radio award  for Best Underground Alternative Band and been dubbed an Artist Primed For a Breakout in 2017 by Billboard, a 2017 Most Anticipated Artist by Alternative Press and 2017 Artist to Watch by the Guardian, PopCrush and more.
“Hey Violet is Primed for a Breakout in 2017.”
“(Hey Violet’s ‘Guys My Age’ is) Teen-pop’s revenge: an urgent dark song about sexual rebellion.”
“Get ready for the next big thing.”
“Moving from grimy punk to shiny pop like the Go-Go’s once did, this long -toiling L.A. group just released a delightful EP, Brand New Moves.”
“Hey Violet is truly reminiscent of an early No Doubt…the band perfectly fills the alternative rock-meets-pop void (and are) going to have quite the 2017.”
“(Hey Violet)…falls somewhere between The Go-Go’s and early No Doubt. Which is obviously a very good thing.  (‘Guys My Age’ is) as ruthless as it is catchy… complete with cutting lyrics and a killer chorus.”
“(Front woman Rena Lovelis) emits an unheard of level of rock-stardom for such a small girl without even singing a single note.  But when she does sing, it’s as if Courtney Love, Gwen Stefani and Hayley Williams crashed into each other and made a whole new generation of rock star.”
Hey Violet show off their Brand New Moves through an assortment of candy-coated new wave bangers…the frenetically feminist electro-rock opus “Fuqboi” (2016’s clear answer to Avril Lavigne’s “Sk8er Boi”) and the swirling, surfy “Pure.” And on the band’s hazy, neon-hued single “Guys My Age,” an R&B breakup anthem for the sexually neglected, the transition from mosh pit to discoteque becomes comes full circle.
“Hey Violet’s stage-energy is infectious.  Several notes into their headlining set fists were already punching the air, while Rena worked the stage with the gusto of a young Debbie Harry.”
“(Hey Violet) added an edge their fans have been craving. Brand New Moves adds some winks, some nudges and way more sass.”

“(Hey Violet’s) new songs are clean and tight, with fat drums and swirling synths that evoke ’80’s new wave and post punk influences…”
