All Music Inc. Teaming Up With LI Cares For Holiday Food & Toy Drive Saturday, December 19th

 

Two Great Long Island Organizations Coming Together to Collect Non-Perishable Food and Toys For Families In Need During the Holidays with Special Musical Performances by J Randy, Keri Wirth & MORE!

Long Island, NY (November, 2015) — On Saturday December 19th, you’re encouraged to join All Music Inc. and Long Island Cares (Harry Chapin Food Bank) for a unique holiday food and toy drive with performances by special guest star J Randy, musician Keri Wirth, and MORE from 10AM to 4PM at All Music Inc., 397 S. Oyster Bay Rd, Plainview, NY 11803!

In recent years J Randy has excited crowds in New York, Miami, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New Orleans & the Caribbean. J has recorded tracks with esteemed producers Mark Batson (Dr Dre, Beyonce, Eminem), Tony Reyes (Cee-Lo, Gwen Stefani, Ne-Yo), Aqua (Jay Z, Kanye West, Beanie Sigel), Cisco Adler (Wiz Khalifa, Mike Posner) Tim Pagnotta (Neon Trees, Walk The Moon), Joe London (Derulo, Pitbull, Bo$$), Stu Brooks (50 Cent, Matisyahu, Z-Trip), Bret Mazur (Black Eyed Peas, Bell Biv Devoe), WndrBrd (Sia, Wavves, Hoodie Allen) and was even asked to perform on the radio show “The Lillywhite Sessions” hosted by producer Steve Lillywhite (U2, The Killers, Rolling Stones)! Having done co-writes with Matisyahu, Chali 2na (Jurassic 5), David Ryan Harris (John Mayer), Rome (Sublime with Rome), AN21, J Angel (Roc Nation), Sam Farrar (Phantom Planet), Tom Peyton (Wallpaper), Airin Older (Edward Sharpe, Sugarcult), Chris Seefried (Fitz & the Tantrums), DJ Kilmore (Incubus), The Disco Fries, Chordashian, Andrea Rullo, Static Revenger and more, Newsday has said of the star “J could actually be the next kind of singer who seemingly emerges fully formed in the pop spotlight out of relative obscurity” and the Los Angeles Music Examiner writes  “Members of the crowd have crowned the next act, J Randy, to be the future of music.  His style is a hybrid of all genres, as if he was a human jukebox!”.

 

Those who plan on attending are encouraged to bring both non-perishable food items and new unwrapped toys; Long Island Cares estimates there are over 300,000 Long Islanders hungry – which includes nearly 118,000 children. Approximately 283,700 people on Long Island receive emergency food each year – that’s 64,900 people every week, and Children who are hungry are more likely than their peers to experience behavioral issues, reduced ability to learn social skills and impaired cognitive learning – even permanent brain damage.

 

“It’s always important to give back to the community, but at this time of season I find it to be especially necessary to make sure we don’t forget those less fortunate than ourselves.” said Guy Brogna, Owner of All Music Inc., which provides instrument repairs, instrument rentals and sales, or music lessons to Long Island musicians. “That’s why we are extremely excited to be working with LI Cares on this event, to try and make a real difference this year”.

 

 

Long Island Cares, Inc. – The Harry Chapin Food Bank is Long Island’s first food bank, serving the hungry on Long Island since 1980.  Long Island Cares brings together all available resources for the benefit of the hungry on Long Island and provides emergency food where and when it is needed, and sponsors a wide variety of innovate direct service programs that help families achieve self-sufficiency. The organization was founded by the late singer, Grammy Award winning songwriter and social activist Harry Chapin in response to the growing issue of hunger on Long Island. It is continued today by his wife and partner Sandy Chapin, a dedicated Board of Directors and talented staff working out of the 35,000 square foot facility in Hauppauge and storefront hunger assistance centers in Freeport, Huntington Station and Lindenhurst. Long Island Cares is a member of the Food Bank Association of New York State and Feeding America. Long Island Cares, Inc. is recognized by the NYS Department of Health and the USDA as the regional food bank for Long Island.

 

Representatives from Long Island Cares will also be on site with a tent, information table, van, and plenty of volunteers helping to facilitate collection of food and toys.
