Over 1,000 volunteers expected for the Great American Cleanup

 

SARASOTA COUNTY – A record number of volunteers are expected for the 2015 Great American Cleanup, which will be held at various locations in Sarasota County, 8 a.m.-noon, Saturday, March 21.

 

For more than 20 years Keep Sarasota County Beautiful has participated in the Great American Cleanup, resulting in a cleaner, safer and more beautiful community. This year more than 1,000 volunteers are investing in their community by helping to keep Sarasota County clean, a 150 percent increase over last year’s event.

 

WHAT: 2015 Great American Cleanup

 

WHEN: 8 a.m.-noon, Saturday, March 21

 

WHERE: Locations throughout Sarasota County – Visit www.scgov.net, keyword search “Keep Sarasota County Beautiful” for specific locations.

 

WHY: The Great American Cleanup enables community volunteers to give back by creating a cleaner, safer and more beautiful environment.

 

INTERVIEWS: Wendi Crisp, Keep Sarasota County Beautiful program coordinator, will be available 9 – 10 a.m. at Siesta Beach, 948 Beach Road, Siesta Key.
