2016 Florida Senior Games Series Qualifier Schedule Now Available
TALLAHASSEE – Even though the 2015 Florida Senior Games are less than two weeks away, current and prospective Florida senior athletes, age 50 and above, can begin planning for 2016.
The schedule of 2016 Florida Senior Games Series Qualifiers begin with 12 spring qualifiers on January 20 with the Lee County Senior Games. The schedule continues through the end of April before taking a break during the summer months. The remaining nine qualifiers begin September 10 with the Pensacola Senior Games and conclude in November.

The 21 Series Qualifiers allow Florida Senior athletes to turn in a qualifying performance to compete in the 2016 Florida Senior Games, the 25th Anniversary of Florida’s only Olympic-style Sports Festival for athletes age 50 and above. The 2016 Games, to be held, December 3-11 in Clearwater, will serve as a qualifier for the 2017 National Senior Games, to be held in Birmingham, Alabama.
Between January and December, 2016, more than 12,000 Florida Senior Athletes, age 50 and above, will participate in a Florida Senior Games event. While the annual Florida Senior Games features competition in 24 sports and events, the Florida Senior Games Series Qualifiers offer a wider variety of sports and events.

The annual Florida Senior Games is a program of the Florida Sports Foundation, the state’s lead sports promotion and development organization.
