115,000+ Demand MGM, NBC Stop Protecting Donald Trump, Release Tapes from ‘The Apprentice’

A new petition from UltraViolet Action, a national women’s advocacy organization, is calling on MGM and NBC to stop protecting Donald Trump and release tapes from The Apprentice, and any other NBC shows that may contain footage of Trump, after Emmy Award-winning producer Chris Nee alleged that the show’s producers are sitting on footage that includes footage of Donald Trump using the n-word.

UltraViolet Action’s petition was signed by more than 30,000 people in less than four hours after launching Monday afternoon, and since yesterday more than 115,000 people have signed petitions from UltraViolet Action and MoveOn.org Political Action demanding MGM Studios and NBC stop protecting Donald Trump and release the tapes from The Apprentice.

The petition comes after The Washington Post released a hot mic video of Trump bragging to Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush in 2005 about grabbing women by their genitals. The video also features Trump making extremely lewd comments about kissing, groping and sexually harassing women, saying “when you’re a star, they let you do it.”

Earlier today, The Huffington Post obtained a transcript from a 2010 episode of The Apprentice where contestants were tasked with giving three country music stars a makeover. During a boardroom session to present their transformations, Trump made a series of comments on one of the country music star’s skin, saying “I assume you’re gonna leave this off, don’t put this shit on the show, you know. But her skin, her skin sucks, okay?” adding “I mean her skin, she needs some serious fuckin’ dermatology” and “You’re obviously not a skin man… which is okay… I wish I wasn’t.”

“For years, NBC and Mark Burnett have protected Donald Trump and built his brand. But the 2005 leaked video of Donald Trump bragging about sexually assaulting women changes things,” explained Nita Chaudhary, co-founder of UltraViolet Action. “NBC and MGM Studios need to stop protecting Donald Trump and release these tapes. The American people deserve to know if Donald Trump is a serial sexual predator and racist before heading to the polls this November.”
